IMPORTANT - Remember that the load capacity of the straps given below is the value in a twisted arrangement (e.g. it is wrapped around the load or fixed in a so-called ‘U’ system). In a straight configuration, i.e. when it is tensioned without any redirection (no turning through buckles, hooks, etc.), the strength is halved, so, for example, a sling with a load capacity of 4000 kg will have one for a closed system, while in a straight configuration its strength will be 2000 kg.
