The XtraFlo float valve by Kerbl is a high-flow diaphragm valve designed for rapid filling of large water tanks and pasture drinkers. The product solves the problem of insufficient water supply during periods of high demand (e.g., heatwaves or high animal density), ensuring constant access to fresh drinking water for cattle and horses.

Application

The valve is intended for installation in high-capacity watering systems:

• Pasture drinkers: ideal for tanks with capacities of 550 l and 1000 l.
• Reserve tanks: used in systems requiring rapid water level replenishment.
• Bottom-fed installations: the “bottom” version allows the supply pipe to be connected underneath the drinker, protecting the installation against mechanical damage caused by animals.
• Working environment: pastures, open paddocks, and large free-stall barns.

Principle of operation

The device uses a float-controlled diaphragm mechanism. Unlike traditional piston valves, the XtraFlo system opens full water flow almost immediately when the water level drops and shuts it off rapidly once the threshold is reached. This enables significantly higher performance (liters per minute) while maintaining compact dimensions. The “bottom inlet” design minimizes water turbulence during filling.
