The Kerbl GasBuddex gas dehorner, made of stainless steel, is a professional tool that reaches 650°C in just 3 minutes, allowing effective horn bud removal in as little as 10 seconds. Thanks to its ergonomic design and piezoelectric ignition, it provides safe, mobile, and comfortable operation in all livestock farming environments.

The GasBuddex gas dehorner by Kerbl is a professional device designed for the precise and gentle removal of horn buds in young livestock. It eliminates the need for lengthy and stressful dehorning procedures by providing fast and controlled cauterization at high temperatures.

Application

The device is intended for use on modern dairy and livestock farms:

  • Calf dehorning: removal of horn buds to improve the safety of both animals and handlers.
  • Mobile operation: gas-powered design allows use without electricity, making it ideal for calf pens and hutches.

Mode of Action

The device uses a gas flame to heat a stainless steel tip. Equipped with an automatic piezo ignition, it reaches an operating temperature of approximately 650°C in just 3 minutes. Dehorning is performed by applying the 15 mm heated tip to the horn bud, permanently removing it in up to 10 seconds.

In Practice

  • High efficiency → short heating time (3 minutes) and quick treatment (10 seconds) enable rapid processing of many animals.
  • Ergonomic design → non-slip handle and balanced weight reduce operator fatigue during repeated procedures.
  • Durable construction → stainless steel provides excellent corrosion resistance and long service life in demanding farm environments.
  • Reduced animal stress → fast and precise operation minimizes pain and discomfort during the procedure.
