Individual 30 mm Digit for Aluminium Tattoo Pliers, Kerbl
Individual 30 mm (0–9) digit for professional Kerbl aluminium tattoo pliers, equipped with hardened steel needles. Provides extremely durable and highly visible identification of large livestock while maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
An individual 30 mm tattoo digit is a specialist marking element designed for the permanent identification of large livestock. It is used to create clear, highly visible identification numbers required for professional herd management, breeding records, and veterinary registration.
Application
Thanks to its enlarged 30 mm size, the digit is intended for marking large animals such as cattle and horses. It is ideal where identification numbers must remain visible from a greater distance than standard ear tattoos. The digit is primarily used with professional tattoo tools featuring large-format heads.
How It Works
The digit operates by mechanically puncturing the skin using sharp, hardened steel needles arranged in the shape of the selected number. During the tattooing process (by clamping or impact), the needles penetrate the skin, creating channels for tattoo ink. A permanent mark is achieved by immediately applying tattoo ink or paste (e.g. Raidex), ensuring a durable identification that remains legible throughout the animal's lifetime.
In Practice
-
Excellent visibility: The 30 mm size offers significantly better readability than standard 7 mm or 10 mm digits, making it easier to identify animals on pasture without the need for close handling.
-
Durable construction: Hardened steel needles maintain their sharpness over extended use, reducing marking resistance and producing cleaner, more consistent tattoos.
-
Hygienic and corrosion-resistant: The metal body is designed to withstand repeated chemical disinfection, helping maintain high biosecurity standards in livestock operations.
