Application

The product is used where water installations may be exposed to low temperatures and the risk of freezing. It is effective for shorter pipe sections where localized or sectional additional heating is needed. It can be used in utility buildings, water mains and other places where frost makes it difficult to keep the installation open. The solution is intended for the protection of water supply pipes and is not designed for heating pipes or locations subject to mechanical load.

Principle of operation

The cable is connected to a 230 V power supply, and the built-in thermostat regulates its operation according to the ambient temperature. When the temperature drops to approximately +3 °C, the heating activates, and when it rises to around +13 °C, it turns off. As a result, the cable heats the pipe only when necessary. In practice, it helps keep water flowing during frosts and reduces the risk of the installation freezing. The cable should not be shortened.

In practice

The short length of 1 m allows the cable to be used where there is no space for a longer heating section. Automatic thermostat operation simplifies use because the system automatically responds to temperature decrease and increase. This is important especially where the installation must work throughout the winter without constant user supervision. IPX7 protection level and 230 V power supply make it a practical element of permanent frost protection. The additional 2 m connection cable makes it easier to connect to the power source.
