ColostroStartSET colostrum storage kit
Feeding calves during the first days of life, or even immediately after calving, is of invaluable importance for their future development. The first milk, also known as colostrum, contains a higher level of immunoglobulins and nutrients than regular cow’s milk. Therefore, newborn calves require a larger amount of high-quality colostrum immediately after birth.
It is recommended to keep a supply of frozen colostrum. This ensures that high-quality first milk is always available. Frozen colostrum can be used when the colostrum after calving is of poor quality (e.g. in first-calf heifers) or when the milk quantity is too low.
Products from our Colostrum Management System are the best way to help provide the youngest calves with colostrum.
The aluminum bags can be easily filled and pasteurized (optional), frozen, and reheated without any problems.
To feed colostrum, simply screw on an artificial teat or a feeding tube.
To make filling the bags easier, we offer filling set 01-1286. An optional cover for colostrum bags helps maintain the warmth of the first milk for longer, making feeding easier.
