The Kerbl automatic chicken coop door control is an advanced electronic module designed to automate the opening and closing of poultry house doors. The product solves the problem of manually letting chickens out and securing them at night, improving both farmer convenience and flock safety in free-range systems.

Application

The device is intended for professional and hobby poultry farming:

  • Predator protection: automatic door closing at dusk protects poultry from foxes, martens, and other nocturnal predators.
  • Time management: eliminates the need for the farmer’s physical presence every morning and evening.
  • Working environment: stationary and mobile chicken coops exposed to moisture, dust, and changing weather conditions.

Principle of operation

The system operates using a cable-driven mechanism that raises and lowers the coop door (usually available separately). The controller offers three operating modes:

  • Light sensor mode → opens and closes the door according to daylight intensity.
  • Timer mode → allows programming specific opening and closing times.
  • Manual control → enables direct operation using buttons on the control unit.

The system also includes a safety function that stops the door if resistance is detected, preventing injury to animals.

In practice

  • Kerbl reliability → over 50 years of experience in livestock technology ensure durable drive mechanisms.
  • Flexible power supply → can operate on batteries or mains power.
  • Durable construction → controller housing protects electronics from dust and moisture.
  • Biosecurity and animal welfare → regular opening and closing times support the birds’ natural daily rhythm.
