Expert Advice: How to calculate the operating time of a 12 V battery:

1. Usable capacity = nominal capacity x 0.65
2. Power consumption by the device (amp) = power consumption in mA (see device nameplate): 1000
3. Operating time (hours) = usable capacity: power consumption

Example: 

1. 88 Ah x 0.65 = 57.2 Ah
2. 120 mA: 1000 = 0.120 A.
3. 57.2 Ah: 0.120 A = 476 hours (19 days)
